best western, 533 west 38th street, 2 blocks from center, use an online srvice and you can get the room for about 105 per nite

Consider a hotel on the other side of the Hudson River in NJ and take the ferry across (2 blocks from VEE)

Prices are as much as 50% less than in NY City.
