Oh, also FWIW, if anyone is coming up I-81, two exits before it reconnects with I-64 East, there's a little exit, Mint Springs or something. If you're hungry, there's a little motel just off the exit to the west that has a restaurant attached and boy is it ever good. Wifey's sister used to live in Va Beach and that was midway on our trip so we made it a point to stop there everytime, coming and going. Dunno about their buffet, but the menu orders have been super. Real, old-style french fries. Nummy!

I hope you all come away from the event with lots of valuable information.
For 10 years I took part in an optical "research" group that got together twice a year. Members of the group were independents in non competing markets. Every 6 months a member would host the group in their town. There was always an agenda, with several members assigned to different topics to bring info to the table. Members would share all info about their businesses, so that everyone could compare their figures, be it sales, insurance, suppliers, wages, rent, etc...
The time I spent with this group was by far the most valuable business education that I've every received.
If all turns out well for all of you maybe you can take it a step further and formalize it, so that you can get the very most out of your get together.

The group was together for probably 15 years or more. Over time members retired or quit for one reason or another. Because it was all independents, new members became more difficult find. Recruits were by invitation only and had to be voted in. When you share confidential information about your business you need to be sure you know who you are sharing it with!
