What time is everyone planning to arrive on Friday?
What time is everyone planning to arrive on Friday?
My flight is arriving at (scheduled) 12:15 PM. So I am anticipating my first beer in Richmond around 1:00 PM.
Anyone else?

Still working on the helicopter. They won't let me throw them out of the plane.

Do we have a tentative roll call yet?
AARRGH! I wish I could come, but my surfacing guy is going to Martinsville for the NASCAR race and somebody has to keep the lab going.

Hopefully, after 2-3 hours at Un-Expo, you won't even remember what a lab is.

I'll be on the exhibit floor on Saturday. I'm going to harass Pete Hanlin, if I can find him. :bbg:
...Just ask me...
I'm not sure yet...does anyone have a "schedule" of activities? I normally close my shop at 6 on Fridays, but that won't put me there till after 10...so I was considering closing early or waiting till Saturday and come in the AM...
Once I know what the plans are, I'll be able to decide which day and what time I'll be arriving.

Schedule??? That would make it an "expo". :finger: Remember, this is the non "expo", and I don't see it following any particular time schedule. Starts Friday, when the first two arrive , ends Sunday.
LOL!! When I hit the "submit reply" button, I cringed, because I just knew that someone would catch that little "indiscretion"! LOL! :D
OK, I know there isn't a "real" schedule of events, but I would like to know if there are plans for all of us to get together for dinner or something?

This time next week, I expect to be knee deep in some rowdy shenanigans and optical BS'ing!!!!
:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers:
I'm bringing some "Crooked River Ale"
Sponsors? We've got 'em!
Nothing huge, but don't worry about lunch on Saturday, nor dinner for that matter...we've got it covered!
Many thanks to Icare Labs for the dinner, and Cooper Vision for lunch!! True sponsors of opticianry!
You guys rock!

C'mon...where are your priorities man!??!:finger:
Lab, shmab!
You've got the rest of your life to "keep the lab going", but this is the charter gathering of what may very well become the Lollapalooza of opticians !! When you see the photos of Fezz and Harry sliding down a muddy hillside on cafeteria trays, you'll wish you'd have been there.
Did I say sliding down a muddy hill? I meant to say "Thoughtfully discussing black market trivex lenses, while sipping micro brews..."
...or something like that.
Either way, you'll have wished you were there.

OK, you have convinced me to be a slacker for that weekend. Lab, schmab.
I'll be there Friday, hopefully around 6 pm. Now where do I go?
Fezz, you should get my package today with the door prize I donated, so be sure to bring it.
And sorry, I hate beer. I know, that makes me a pariah, but I really don't like beer. Now, a little Seagrams Seven Crown and even littler 7-Up over some ice, well, that's how ya do it podnuh.
And I'll see if I can find some of our local brew, a canteloupe/watermelon/road kill mix.:bbg:
BTW, how did you know that moniker? I have always harbored the dream of opening my own taco stand called Taco Schmaco.:bbg::bbg:

Now we just have to work on:
Judy! Judy! Judy!

Judy sees the physical therapist for her post-op eval tomorrow morning. I think things are going quite well and expect to be cleared to drive. I'm practicing getting in and out of the car today. :shiner: It's utterly amazing how useful a functioningt knee can be. :hammer:
I've talked to the hotel, and they've confirmed they do have a pool, and I'm sure Harry could take a quick online physical/occupational therapy course and be certified by Friday. Fezz has an extensive background in pain numbing, I mean pain management, and the rest of us can lend moral support!
Really, you can't afford to NOT be there! How will you ever heal correctly by staying home?
