The NOSTRA Reunion is planned for 14-16 August 2009 in conjunction with the Change of Command Ceremony in Yorktown VA.

NOSTRA is planning the largest reunion in it's history August 14-15, 2009. This is your chance to reconnect with lost friends, see how the Command has changed since you left and participate in many great events with your friends. The Command is completing a four-million dollar building renovation. This reunion has many opportunities with a variety of activities. one of the activities is a golf tournament with prizes.
The NOSTRA Reunion 2009 will be held inconjunction with the Change of Command Ceremony on August 14th. During that day, there will be NOSTRA lab tours as well as a Mongolian BBQ with a wide variety of Asian/American foods.
Please forward this information to all former NOSTRA staff members. It is better that they receive duplicate invites than not get one at all. The registration deadline July 15, 2009 in order to have enough time to order T-shirts, mugs, ball caps, etc. and finalize the hotel contract. To make this reunion a success, any assistance or pledges you could offer is appreciated. Volunteers are welcome in planning and to work the event.
The reunion and banquet require tickets and the other events will be paid on site. Registration is $55 per person. Spouse and guests are welcome and encouraged.
This reunion is a special event that will bring back great memories, meet with many past NOSTRA Commanding Officers and have a great time! The host hotel is the George Washington Inn in Williamsburg. Sorry for digging up an old thread but I'm looming at enlisting under 68h which is the armys optical lab specialist (equivalent to navy optician) and I'm having a hard time finding out what the mos is like. I realize this is specifically addressing the naval side but today it's a joint force position where you work with other departments and agencies. Training is done on a naval base in Virginia. Anyways I'm a college graduate and a current licensed optician with 5 years manufacturing experience. What can you recall your days being like? It could be too long ago and I know things are alway changing but I'd be more than willing to listen as you venture down memory lane. Please reply or pm. Thanks in advance.
