Done my income tax return!!

Woo hoo! I just finished my tax return tonight. I'm one of those hold-outs who still do it with pen and paper, so it usually takes me a couple of hours to get through.

My brother thinks it's absolutely ridiculous that I don't do it on computer, but I find it somewhat satisfying to do it by hand. I think it stems from my Grade 11 history teacher who once said that the modern definition of literacy was being able to fill out an income tax form. I have no proof at all that his statement is true, but it's stuck with me regardless.

I took mine oure=s to the accountant on Monday. I sure hope we beat The Man this year. H always smacks us around!

I did mine online Jan31. Feb 2 I got my email from the Feds saying it was accepted and Feb 3, I got the same email from the state. Feb 6, I got my printed check refund from the state and four days later my printed check from the Feds.
Never have I gotten them so fast!

It has to be because Obama's in now!!

Our stuff is at the accountants and will probably be ready before the deadline. Since we have to sent the government a check every quarter we look upon April 15th in a different light. We do not use the term "refund" as the money is ours and we loaned it to the IRS without interest for nearly a year.

If we did away with mandatory withholding and required everyone to send a check to Washington and their State capitol every month you would see a very different view of taxation in this country.

Just heard that the new Federal budget is going to cost $12,000.00 per person. I would be glad to pay only $12,00.00 in taxes this year but I have to pony up for the idle lounge abouts who neither plant nor do they sow. Now, the taxpayer has to pay for the failed government and business practices that have placed a severe obstacle in the future economic growth of the country.

Not only are the pigs at the public trough they are licking it clean!
