Comparison of diamond turning machines for toric intra-ocular lens manufacturing

Hello everyone,

I am asked to compare the offers of diamond turning machines for toric intraocular lens manufacturing from different companies, such as DAC, Schneider, Precitech, Contamac, Satisloh...
However the technical data of these products comprise different information. I dont know exactly which information have the greatest impact on the product quality.

As parameter for the product quality i assumed the surface roughness and the form accuracy. If i neglected an important characteristic please let me know. (perhaps speed(rpm)?)

Given technical data are for example
- feedback resolution
- position accuracy
- repeat accuracy
- feed rate
- straightness
- travel
- swing capacity
...
- number of axis. (What impact has the number of axis?)

I would like to know how these parameters are correlated to each other and their importance for the product quality.

Would be very nice, if somebody who has a greater knowledge about these machines can give me an advice.:o

I can't really give you much input. I've only seen the DAC in action, none of the others. My experience was as an observer not operator or owner. I would contact the various factory reps for more input and ask for comparisons as a start. IOL and contact manufatrure is not something most of us here are familiar with, I don't know here you'll find anyone that is knowledgeable.
