The fires that have ripped through Victoria are the worst seen. It was confirmed that 200 people lost their lives, and more than 2000 homes were destroyed.
But the public outpouring for the victims has been absolutely enormous. At last count there was about AUD$95,000,000 raised by the nation!!! The way everyone pulled together has really made ebveryone her very proud of their nation.
And there has been awesome messages of support from around the world. We had (I think) 10-14 firefighters from California fly in to help put some of the blazes out. There are still many burning.

One person was arrested, and put in safe custody for his own well-being, over the fires which he started. They may have contributed to 21 people losing their life.

Strange country we are in.......fires in Victoria and in Queensland (top of country) we have really bad flooding!! Just wish we could take the water from the floods and relieve the fires.
