    Cheaper Progressives

I've had many patients ask for a cheaper progressive... however I am a Varilux fan... and have been for some years now. What would everyone recommend, and where could I order such a product. I've fit the Concord from KMars, and haven't had too many problems, but it never hurts to get other opinions.

Also.. A good AR coating that is cheap? Again, I Crizal Alize and Carat Adv. most of the time, but there are some patients who just don't want to spend the money. I don't want to give them some nasty AR where they come back to me in a few months complaining how it smears and scratches...

    Any advice?

    Bryan

If you want a good PAL that you can put Crizal on, try the Ovation.

I'l stand solidly with the Sightstar line that we offer at Luzerne. I've worn the lens almost exclusively for the past 2 years and I am quite happy with it's performance. That 2 year period predates my association with Luzerne, for those of you who might question my motives. :D

I use Luzerne's lab in Wilkes-Barre and the Sightstar line was my solution for the many senior citizens I see that are on a fixed budget, and so far I have not had one complaint :) So Judy I can't question your motives at all! My patients have been very pleased with the lenses and Doc is pleased with the value.

I like the Concord and Concord Micra. We surface them here, in addition to a wide range of other pals. More importantly our patients are happy with the performance. I'm sure Kmars has a decent AR that they can apply. If not, try Galaxy in Brooklyn. They sell the Concord series and can apply a cost effective AR with good performance. I wonder what kind of lens the Sightstar really is? Who makes the blanks?

The customer justment about lens by themself .... they will decision which
good lens by AR quality because they can see.

the lens structure is the first justment when they receive glasses.
I not worry because they can adaptation. ( new lens is same budget )

I concern about AR ... if you like crizal alize

You should choose second brand from essilor that not varilux.
It is the nearly structure BUT new brand (frighting brand) it lower cost than varilux BUT same performance in each level of PALs.

Here are some Variluxes with AR for a couple hundred, including frames.

you can get a Varilux Ellipse here with AR and frame for $264.

Shoot! I look for the retailers to soon start buying lenses like this. After all, we have the advantage of knowing how to find the proper PD.

I sometimes find it amazing what you can find online, there is no log in or security or anything. Just search concord micra and click the sites:
