use of "Cling Film" to find near & distance

    Hi everybody,

some time ago I saw a clear printed "sticky" film, being used to help the optician or technician to find the distance and reading zone on "unstamped" progressives. Just with the help of the engravings, the film would be placed on the lens, and, if you had the right print pattern on the film (matching film pattern and lens type) it would correctly encircle the two areas i.e. distance and near to read with the vertometer.
This allowed to re-check a pair on site at any time later, when the factory stamp had been removed.
Who has seen this recently and any idea where to get this film from or made to order ?

Georg (yes, sis is se Korrekt spelling, I am German...)

I guess you're referring to the static cling vinyl verification labels? Basically all you need are either/or ones with a 2mm or 4mm rise, correct?
I get those form my lens manufacturers, sorry but I don't know where they get them from. Maybe some of the other manu's will show up and inform you.

Oh, and give your English teacher a pat on the head. I have some friends near Hannover.
