I'm only fluent in English but I did take three years of Latin and two years of Spanish in school. It's one of my major regrets that I haven't taken the ime to thoroughly learn another language.

I speak British English (as opposed to American English), and mangled my way though French GCSE (and passed!)

The only optical differences are that we call a side a side, and the Americans say temple, we say supra, they say semi-rimless. Insert your own tomato joke here.

Also, I think the prog names are different.

English is the main language here, although My
native tounge is Gaelic, I have been using it all my life and I have done 5 years of French,

As for translation, The following are in Gaelic

    Spectacles: Spéaclaí
    Lens: Lionsa
    Frame: Creatlach
    Blanks:bearnaí
    Sides: Cliathán

It has come to my attention that sometimes Americans find it very hard to understand us Irish even when we are speaking English
