    Smilie Holiday business hours.

It complicates things, with Christmas and New Years on Tuesdays; so what are most of you folks doing? Happy Holidays!

Since we are normally closed on Mondays, we already have the Eve's off. We are closed both Christmas and New Year's Days. Of course the ultimate joy of my first holiday season with an independent shop - no late night, mall holiday hours.

I'll be open half a day on Christmas Eve, and because New Years Eve is the last day of the year, I need to do end of the year close of business, so will be opened then. Oh well, anyway.

Open half-days Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. I will be at work, all day, on my birthday. :( Yet another downside of having a holiday birthday, along with the candle adorned fruitcake...

    Smilie

Since we quit working Saturdays on 9.15, this was a serious scheduling problem. Well, I decided to work the Saturdays before Christmas and New Years; one of our reps is going to fill in and do a trunk show each Saturday, and spit the staff, so that everyone has one 4-day weekend, then close both Sun/Monday/Tuesday. Thank you all for your input! Al.

I guess I can't be blamed as the "scrooge" since everyone that works for me gets that whole week off PLUS the following Mon. and Tue.

I'll be the only one putting around the lab for that whole week and it's mostly my time to do the "fix-up" stuff..this year I get to re-build two cylinder machines that week...anyone want to volenteer to help;)

Since in wholesale this is the very slowest time of the year everyone that has two years of vacation has to take one of those this last week, so I guess it's the good with the bad since they don't have much of a choice for this one week of when to take it off.

For the last five years I have been doing it this way no one has complained so I guess most people tend to enjoy spending time with the family.
Shoot even all my accounts don't mind since they are more or less slow and everything they do they don't or wouldn't expect back till after the first anyway. Oh except for two OD's that are Jewish they don't seem to thrilled with it but with them I just am taking the yearly inventory and fix up time and recalibration.

This year I think I'll probably bring in one other person if I can get anyone to volenteer so I can get it done and spend time with the new "peanut" for the week...Today was the first time she got to come into the lab and see where the ole man works and why he is so cranky..;)

Now another question, anyone else put up the tree yet? With teh new addition it seems like Christmas is a whole lot more fun and I had mine up a week and a half ago and already got a ton of presents under the tree for the peanut...and all the obligatory stuff like "first Christmas" stocking, "first Christmas" balls and candy canes.....

Now for the next question at hand what is everyone getting? :D .. me? I'm thinking about a new Harley, got my eye is a new soft tail or and Mike will like this one a Panhead!!.. it's not new but it sure looks nice. Now if it will just fit in the stocking.

    Merry Christmas

Every year I get a few "cafeteria plan" or "flex plan" customers who have about $800 to spend before Jan 1st. And usually at least one on New Years Eve.

So, It's half days on the "eves" and closed the actual holiday.

    Smilie Holiday Hours

My office will close on the 24th & 25th. My employee will also receive the 26th off with pay. We will also close on the 31st and 1st. I am too small to offer many benefits so the extra day off with pay helps.
