    Sorry, there must be another word we use for this on this side of the pond. Or maybe this is something we don't use at all. Cable temples yes. Curl sides I don't know. I am curious though. Good luck.

    I''m still not clear what is being discussed but I suppose it's either a cable or riding bow temple. The latter must be heated and re-heated after trimming.
    I suppose the number 70 has somethng to do with temple length, which is aways measured from where it butts up to the chassis (front for you youngsters) to the absolute end even if it must be straighened out to measure it.

    ltb = length to bend

    straighten the regular temples out and fit it on the child then mark where the point of touch is on the ear of the child (ltb), measure back from that accordingly so that your cable temples are fit snug and cut. (remember to leave 5 to 8mm for the cable temples to attach to, score the 5 to 8mm of temple left so that it is rough and will hold the cable ends better (if the cables extends on to the temple shoulder file it down so that the cables will fit, then score them) after scoring apply super glue (sparringly I use the gel stuff it's easier to apply accurately) then twist the temple ends onto the frame apply heat to the cable temples if necessary to help get them on. Make sure that the cables are slightly twisted in otherwise the ends will irritate the back of the ears, allow them to dry for a few minutes and try on the patient, on occasion you'll have to remove them and cut more to gain a better fit. Remembr it's easier to cut more than it is to add temple back to the frame so err on the loose side to be safe. After a few of these you'll get the hang of it and they'll be quick and painless. Should take no more than 10-15 minutes with some practice.

    Shoot, if you tryin to do one of those covenrsion cables you get from Hilco, you could even read the directions on the package they come in.

    However since Harry done splained to you. Also note that when you are marking the spot, have you should keep a light pressure on the bridge with your finger.
