Kentucky LDO

Ok, so I have call and left messages...sent emails with no response....I just have a simple question....

I wanted to apply for my KY license once I pass the ABO...and of course I need an apprenticeship. So with the horrific economy no one will take me..no one. Its really weird...never had this problem ever!
Anyways, I was wondering since I have been in the field for so long (since I was 16...so almost 20 years), could I have previous work experience count towards the apprenticeship?

Thats all I want to know....of course no one at the state board will return email or phone calls. I even tried to email the Kentucky Chapter for Opticians...and nothing. Kind of irks me a bit.....just a bit.

I do not have the number handy, but Mr. Duff can answer your questions. His firm is Tinder, Krause and Tinder in Lexington. I am sure a Google search will provide the number. I do not know how long you have waited, but the Kentucky group is generally one of the better state organizations. There are staff people from the state who work at the board office, and are there daily, M-F. I am sure someone will get back to you soon. In the mean time call, Mr. Duff. He is the man in Kentucky!

As to the apprenticeship......the economy is certainly a factor, but the association may have some ideas there as well.
