how do i adjust the pressure? the only thing that was taught to me is the d1,d2,d3, d3 being the lowest setting. pads i use all the time. the other day i was getting ****** off i started slapping 5 pads on each side all spread-out. and chuck pad, using the same ive been using for years. originally i worked with santinelli and got moved to another lab so most of gerber equipment is new to me.
ill try using less pads on the lenses. the brand is vision ease essilor poly.
On the Gerber Professional edger, the chucking pressure is regulated by a series of springy disks inside the chuck. When those disks crack (and they do), you end up with high chucking pressure, no matter what the setting. Best bet is to call Gerber Coburn about repairing the chuck.

i dont think it's going to happen since i work for a retailer. apparently associates are deblocking incorrectly causing crazing. i dont get it since everything has been fine up until last week. still getting the same problem.
i discovered the issue or a solution to it. the adhesive chuck pads were too sticky so i added a dab of water. so far no issues.
