    Wave moving home

:hammer: Don't you just love moving house.
Why is nothing ever where you thought you packed it ?
then the worst part all you want to do is set up yhe computer for
a quick visit to optiboard. But her indoors has other ideas like
fitting carpets and unpacking boxes and other mundane tasks.
well supose i had better get back to work.:bbg:

I wish we were moving! We've had our home up for sale for six months now and nothing. We're in the process of switching realtors so maybe something will happen soon.

    Good luck on your move!

I wish I was moving too!! I want to move! I am about ready to give my house away just so I can get out. I do remember though how fustrating it is moving and getting everything set up and in its place. It is amazing how much stuff you can accumulate in time. You never realize it until you go to move and then wow I have way too much stuff. Wish you all the best and Steve I hope your house sells soon too.

We are moving after 19 years. I can't believe all the things we have. After two days of sorting, I have decided if I haven't used it in a year it is history. We have boxes everywhere and we still have a month to go.

Very exciting though. Bought a new washer and dryer and some new furniture to be delivered to the new home.

    Best wishes to all...

    WOW, what a pertinent subject!

We had a "contingent" offer after 1 week but, now 5 weeks later, they haven't had an offer on their house so I'm now wondering how many offers didn't I get. Steve, I may be in your position. Keep us posted.

Bev, we have 14 years of collecting including basement and floor in ceiling of the garage. My wife is a saver (well, she's kept me around for 32 years now); stuff she hasn't seen for 14 years she suddenly needs. I've been trying to be considerate of her separation anxiety so if I see anything that might even kindle a slight memory, I ask permission before dumping it. A week or so ago I got one of those, "I almost cried last nite." "Howcome, what did I do now?" "You threw something away!" "What was it?" "It doesn't matter now...it's gone."

    Harry and Jim,
You are so right. I am nostalgic and have been crying as I am packing. So many memories and we move on.

Wish you both well and a happy holiday season as you may not hear from me for a while. God Bless you and yours. Steve a special prayer goes out for you and yours.

Well, I just started packing our house, and I'm trying to follow Bev's "if I haven't used it in a year" rule.

Wow, this is tough! I haven't looked at my H.S. yearbook, my college books, and so much other stuff since we moved here four years ago! I'm tossing most of it, and its like turning a page on your life! Guess its about time, however, as those college days are fading into the distant past now...

And yet, as you watch certain items (like the old Lionel train catalog you went through umpteen times as a kid or one of the baby outfits you remember buying for the kid when you were "expecting") flutter into the box marked "junk"... well, its just a bit hard on the sentiments!

Someone mentioned that you always find stuff you didn't remember you had when you move! Boy, I had forgotten that old bag filled with love notes from high school (I can't believe how vitally important each one seemed when I received them what, 15,16,17 or so years ago- oh, I'm getting old)... I think I'll keep that old bag so my grandkids have something to giggle about some day! :)

Well, back to packing and remembering days gone by...

    Crier and after the event

then after you move you can't find anything !!.you put it all in marked boxes but it seems miraculously to have moved it's self when you come to unpack.
three weeks after our move and we still keep finding boxes.:drop:
