are they available in toronto?
are they available in toronto?
you can get shamir in Canada, but it is very hard. Shamir signed an exclusivity deal with Shoppers Optical that has carried into Luxottica.
Yes, the independent company that everyone loves signed an exclusivity deal with a chain.
The Shamir deal carried over when Shoppers turned into Pearls? Do ALL Pearls in Canada get the Shamir lenses now, or just the ones that were Shoppers?
Can you get them from labs in the US?? I don't know how the import laws work on something like that, but it may be worth checking into.
As far as i know shamir was exclusive to shoppers and when they where baught out by pearl wich is lux. It becomes exclusive to all
Hi all: I am the Ontario rep for Shamir lenses and we have been marketing our lenses in Canada since this October. Our lenses are available through our partner labs to independent Opticians and Optometrists.
Shamir lenses are not available at Pearl or at other chains in Canada. Thanks for your interest, and try a Shamir lens today!!
Hi Martin and Merry Christmas;
When you were in to see me a few months ago you were working on signing up a lab for distribution. How is that going? As I recall K & W in Kitchener is carrying a few of your progressives. Has anything changed since then?

Hi Martin;
Is Isabel still with Shamir? If so, so hi from an ex-Allison rep.

Hi all
I was wondering if you could help with with my knowledge of shamir product - and what is out there and what "WILL BE "
Although we do not do many - i have many pts of our friends at LC - coming into us - and I am a bit confused from the info i read -
To my knowledge - They use the Original Autograph lens - The design that the lab chooses - either the regular design or short design based on the B and seg ht -
1- Is there a way to determine what design they are ? after they are edged ??
it appears to me the markings are all the same -
Is this a True free form ? and thus those laser marks are placed on after the manufacturing ?
2- From what i have read - there is autograph 2
in which it is more along the lines of the accolade freedom ( we do currently use this allot ) - in which the design is automatically adjusted by the B- as well as other factors - with the design -
Now back to the autograph 1 - i had read that the ones my friends use at the LC labs - will no longer be produced by shamir - and that after a certain date only the autograph 2 will be a option
can someone explain this to me -? I had though with most of these "free Form " products - the blacks are close to a SV - and the generating process actually etches in the progression ?
Am i far off here - ?
can you touch base on the old and new products - and anyone working for LC - explain if they even know what they use - Old VS new designs ?
Any info - ( even on the concept ) of these lenses would be helpful - since i am a bit confused now - based on the actical i read in 2020 -
i am not trying to use the same products as our frineds over there - however - it help when i know how shamir product line works -
I bet their stock went thru the roof when they got their product picked up by them - ?
they prob. bought out all the original design - so that is why they came out with Autograph 2 ?
thanks
Hay Marty ; Are the lenses to be had in poly, trans Brown or gray and crizal fort?
Thanks for the info.....Lance
