Anyone know a supplier of the old fashioned temples for a hearing aid?

Fit's on an old 3 barrell like a shuron freeway.

I just need hearing aid temples.

Don't have any but if you strike out you might try an old hearing aid dealer.

Back in the day we always fit them on a Ronsir or Nusir, which were actually 5bbl temples. It's been a long time, but I believe we just got them from Shuron, but a review of their website shows none. You may try a lab that's been around a while - Soderberg or Walman Optical (now one and the same I think) in the Twin Cities would be a good place to start.

I would ask a real geezer, my dad, but at 93 I'm not sure if he'll remember what a temple even is. ;)

I got a pair from a local hearing aid dealer last year for Uncle Clarence's trifocals. Now if I can find a pair of Black 48 eye Ronsir tops the old boy will be as happy as a clam.

I will call the hearing trumpet dealer tomorrow to see if he still has access to them.

Got bad news, if the Ronsir is what I remember and the top is plastic. The plastic shrinks with age. If you ever take one apart you can't get it back together. Suspect if something has been sitting in storage for a long period of time the same would be true.

Got bad news, if the Ronsir is what I remember and the top is plastic. The plastic shrinks with age. If you ever take one apart you can't get it back together. Suspect if something has been sitting in storage for a long period of time the same would be true.

Chip, they are zyle tops and they are not in storage but sitting on Uncle Clarence's face where they have been since I gave him the frame in 1969 or thereabouts. As a point of interest you can rehydrate most old zyle tops.

The family has a death pool going on Clarance - which will be the first to go to their eternal reward. Clarance or his Ronsir or his suspenders. Clarance is 98, his frame is 39 and his suspenders are dated from gold rush days.

Chip you should have used the Ronsir that was a metal combination instead of the plastic type. We also used a frame from AO because it was 7 barrel hinge and seemed a bit stronger but for the life of me I can't remember the name.
I haven't seen a pair of hearing aid temples in probable 10 years or more. The last one I saw the guy asked me if I knew what they were and I said I have adjusted a few of those hearing aids temples but there a bear if you heat them too much. He asked if I would adjust them I did and he away quite happy.

I remember the metal Ronsirs, made many of them. The AO was called the Sirmont, also metal and zyl tops. Artcraft and B&L also had them and Universal had the Statesman that was very popular.

We made lots of hearing aid jobs for a hearing aid company in Sioux City when I worked for AO. I was happy when I went to Walman's that there weren't any more of them.

The name of the Frame was a Sirmont- It was a 5 bbl not 7 and it was also a "Red Dot" Hinge so not suitable here unless it predated red dots (c. 1960). I am surprised no one has mentioned the Clubman, still available from Art Craft.

Thats why I said i could not remember the name but thanks for the info and your right on all accounts. WOW you came up with the Clubman I forgot all about that one very nice for the hearing aid assemble. NICE JOB HCJ
