By all means, make extra stuffing apart from the bird (stuffing is, afterall, the best part of the meal!). However, by no means should you neglect to actually put some stuffing in the bird- (along with a half stick of butter, some pepper, salt, and other stuff)!

Stuffing from inside the turkey, is simply the best there is! Forget the crunchy crud at the top of the other, the moist and chewy in-bird stuffing is tops!

Don't like stuffing from inside the turkey? Well then, stuff the thing anyway and mail your in-turkey stuffing to...

    Stuffing for me!

I guess since it was always served in the bird, (Can't have Thanksgiving without the threat of botulism!) it was always and has always been stuffing for me!:D

Pete and Cindy have it right!

Pete and Cindy have it right! Inside the bird with butter is too good to adequately put into words. My mother in law makes the best I've ever had.The recipe I led you to earlier in this thread is more like a side dish.I've not used it inside the bird but have used it as a main dish and it too is outstanding! My mouth is starting to water and Thanksgiving is a whole week away! from a hungry hj

Ok, this is Sunday. It's time to start the cooking. (Especially if we have to go to work tomorrow.:hammer: ) Anyway, after church, and Sunday dinner, I made the cornbread and sauteed the celery and onions in the real butter. They go into the freezer until Wednesday. Remember the turkey needs to get out of the freezer (if you have a frozen one either tomorrow or Tuesday depending on the size and how cold your fridge is) and put in the fridge to thaw.

Pies and stuff will have to wait til Wednesday. Really fresh veggies have to wait til Wednesday to be purchased as well. Oh well, we can't do everything.

    What have you started?
