Does anyone know anything about WellCare (Melody) vision plan?
I'm bumping this to see if you ever received an answer. It's a new plan for us, and so far it's been a disaster. It took several months of wrangling between Wellcare and our administrator before we had plan numbers to use for billing, and now the plans as explained to patients are different than what comes up in our system. It's a mess.
Anyone having luck with this?
We take WellCare/HealthEase, it is administered through Advantica. So far, it hasn't been that difficult except that members don't have a card or don't even know they have it. In our area, all the WellCare/HealthEase plans are medicare/medicaid plans which may have something to do with some of the confusion. Sometimes patients will say they have "Medicaid" and it's not really "Medicaid" but a plan administered through Advantica. Basically, they reimburse a frame up to a certain amount (depends on plan1, plan 3, etc.) and only cover basic CR-39 lenses. I guess it's better than nothing. Good luck.
Thanks for the "late" replies! It's been so long now, I forget what it's all about! I guess I can get along just fine without it!
We do Wellcare/Advantica too, but it can be either Medicare or MVC. It gets really confusing. Maybe as time goes on we'll find some tricks or something that will make it easier to use.
