Blue Jumper Leading on from optimist/pessimist...

There is a button, clearly marked "DO NOT PRESS". You have no idea what it does. There is no-one around. Do you press it?

Seven people have voted so far......

Right up front, I voted to press the button with no restrictions.I would have guessed Maria would have done the same however I also would have guessed that Darris would have done that as well.I was shocked to find that only one of the two would have pressed the button and neither one is talking.

Haven't you ever seen the sign on the door which says that if you press the bar to open the door an alarm will sound??......it NEVER happens!! they only want to keep you from using the door as a shortcut to somewhere.Press the button I say! Full speed ahead......I can't believe that only one of the other six is with me!Well I pressed it and guess what?.....POOOF!...................!

    Harry,
I bet none of your matresses have the little labels that say "Do NOT remove!"
    :D

The option that I would have been most accurate of my feelings would have been E- Do not press the button, but wait for someone to arrive who does and see what happens to them!

Doesn't it depend on who labelled the button, or do we all have to make our own decisions concerning the button (which would be existentialism defined)?

    I need to delegate

I choose to deliberate for hours (maybe moments) and find someone else to push the button. Leadership means delegating. Right?

Great! Someone to wait with me!

    Jackie,
This is good, now I can have company as I wait for someone like Sean to stroll by and press the button! I can see it now...

"Oh, that looks like it really hurt! Glad I didn't press that button! Say, wanna go get a coffee and a danish?

    Coffee and a danish ?

    Pete,
Better yet........why not a couple of cold ones and a nice big comfy sofa so you can watch the four or so of us who voted to "Press It" have a go at it to see who gets to it first? Not quite PPV material........but maybe a good laugh. :)

There's no question about who gets to go first. I invented the button, it's mine, I'm pressing it. :)

I have a confession to make...

Having recently pressed a red button, I can tell you the results can be catastrophic! However, there does seem to be a strange thrill to be found with pushing it...!
