And use in our practice. MRP- Major Reference Point is now used in place of PRP Prism Rference point. on a progresive lens, this is the dot under the fitting cross. It is wear you determine the amount of prism in a progressive prescribed or unwanted.
DRP- in our practice we use this for Dissatisfied Refractive Patient.
I know recently there was a post and someone mentioned DRP for something else, wish I was paying more attention.
Hope this helps some. Ginny:)
MRP = Major Reference Point a deprecated term that became to abiguous to be of any use.
DRP = Distance Reference Point the point on the lens that should be measures for the distance Rx
LRP = Layout Reference Point the point on a lens used as a reference when measureing the patient (eg. fitting cross on a progressive)
PRP = Prism Reference Point the point on the lens where the prism should be measured.
It ain't rocket science and the terms weren't made up by me or any other office they are part of the Vision Councils LDS (Lens Description Standards) http://www.thevisioncouncil.org/memb...dard%201.1.pdf
