Is 32°C hot enough to crack lenses?

I got Essilor transition lenses for my eye glasses about 2 years ago. My eye sights are pretty bad, so the lenses needed to be compressed twice.
A several month ago, lots of small cracks started to appear from the rims of both lenses and were growing longer and longer everyday. So, I brought my glasses back to the shop. I was surprised to hear that it was caused by the HEAT and i was upset to hear that they wouldn't replace it because 1-yr warranty was over.
I live in Singapore, so it's most likely 25°C ~ 32°C everyday for next 300 years. If the lense can survive at 32°C heat only for a year, shouldn't it be prohibited from being sold in very hot or cold countries? Just wondering if anybody had the same experience before or have a better explanation... my old crappy cheap eye glasses lasted much much longer than this high-tech expensive lenses.

Sometimes different materials are more sensitive to temperature- the normal temperature of just being outdoors shouldn't cause them to crack. If you've ever left the glasses in your car that would be enough to do it- the temperature in a vehicle is very high compared to the outdoor temperature.

Luckily you won't have to endure the heat for the full duration of the heat wave.

Thanks, Nikki. My eyesight is so bad enough that i can't even lock my car if i ever left it in a car. I would never left my glasses in a car or microwave or by a stove. Also, i had always been handling it with extra care 'cause it was pretty expensive and i didn't want any scratch on it. But sometimes, i fell asleep with my glasses on though.
Any idea on good material not too sensitive to temperature? I need to get a new one as those cracks start annoying me, but i don't want to make the same mistake like listening to salesperson's recommendation.

It's a direct effect of global warming. Gore was right.

Seriously, no one here can tell you the exact cause. Go back to your eyecare professional and ask them.

Same thing happened to my Mom-in-law's eye glasses. It was really absurd that this materials are used here in Phil considering the hot temperature. And the worst part is it is considered "force majeure" so they won't apply the warranty to her eye glasses.

For those of you that are Celsius challenged, 32 deg C = 90 deg Fahrenheit. That is not hot enough to cause damage to lenses in the absence of some other problem like chemical exposure.

sorry, but one more question before i go...

Sorry about it. this forum was the only place i was allowed to post as a consumer. I was just looking for an better answer from worldwide experts than the very simple reply from my local eyecare professional/technician; "Cracks were caused by heat. Your warranty is just over. You wanna get new glasses?" who had examined me and was familiar with my situation.
Well, when i get a new computer, i check every single detail. So, i just wanted to know what things i need to check (or technical terms used).
Will be much appreciated if you can let me know the best place I can get information on optical topics. Or any posts here that explains about this heat/material thingy.... Strangely very few rating sites for eyecare products...
