I was thinking the same thing. I don't wish ill of any business. Those folks are consumers and might very well be purchasing a product your wife or neighbor produces or sells.

People that own mutual funds are pulling their money out of the market to purchase CDs which are safer than stocks. This forces mutual funds to sell stocks they own to satisfy their clients that want to withdraw their money. Many strong companies are suffering from this. It hurst the market cap of the company and their ability to borrow money to buy other suffering businesses but it doesn't mean that the company is bad, or going broke. Unless they don't have cash on hand.
