    +18.00 ou rx

I am curious as to wheter there is a lens out there, other than a super Aspheric, that is, by all accounts, superior in the thickness value compared to the above mentioned lens??
    Thank You,
    James Peterson:hammer:

Are you talking just a SV or a bifocal? I know for a bifocal, the best lens that was available to me was a hyper-asph roundseg called an Omega.

Pssst. It's called a contact lens. Best thing you can do for a patient with an Rx like this. They used to teach this in prescriber school.

Geeze Chip... how do you know if this patient dosen't already have contacts?

Or some circumstance where she/he couldn't wear them?

Why are you so rude all of the time?

You asked for something thinner, that's it. If the patient had contacts the glasses would be just to find the contacts with, thickness wouldn't be important.

    Load of BULL.

No one wants to wear a -18.00. There has to be some circumstance as to why... which you have failed to recognize as usual.

Even on -5.00's we are looking for something thinnner.

Why don't you try to HELP the poster instead of being rude?

    Wink + 18.00 rx

I want to thank all of you for helping out with my question.
This patient does wear C.L. However, her corneas have had the propensity to develop corneal ulcers and other problems associated with her corneas.
She would like to have the option of wearing a nice pair of S.V Lenses/Glasses on occassion.

I had a case exactly like this a month ago. Elderly woman who has been wearing aphakic soft lenses (on an extended wear basis) for about twenty-five years. We recommended daily removal, but she cannot handle it anymore. Both she and her family wanted her to have new glasses that didn't look like Coke bottles.
