    Pricing for lenses

I was wondering if you all have ever discussed lens pricing. I know that different areas of the country have different demographics, and different market demands, but as the economy gets more depressed, it is more important to have some sort of idea what other optical establishments are charging for various lens types and materials and coatings. Not having been here that long, I am not sure if this a taboo topic or not...but I sure would like to know what others are charging for SV, Bifocal, ARC, poly, Transistions, Progressives, etc.

Go to the professional forum and you'll get lots of pricing info.
You'll have to become a supporter to do so.

Definitely go to the professionals' forum. You'll find a lot of detailed discussions about this subject and others.

Plus, you get the honor of supporting OptiBoard monetarily and help Steve continue to run this great resource.

Plus 1 to CME4specs and Andrew. This is not the place to discuss that.

The above posts are spot on!

    Vaguely:

I charge as much as the market will bear, plus some!

To price properly it is important to know and understand your costs.

My lenses, mostly specialty stuff, are worth exactly the price I charge. Same goes with custom frame work.
