    No A/R?

I don't get it. I keep seeing all these photos showing her spex with no A/R, like the one below. The recent cover of Newsweek also showed the same fault. Seems like quite an oversight by some optical professional somewhere.

    She's a fiscal conservative Alaskan,

Dont try to get her to purchase your bridge to nowehere or A/R unless the federal govt pays for it.

    That's funny.

I guess when someone's trying to sell me something, I'd rather see their eyes!

    A/R labs in Alaska?

Don't know if her optical does fabrication in house or not. I can imagine the schedule of a governor being quite busy. If there are no A/R labs in AK she may not have wanted to put-up with the wait to get her specs.

She does need A/R though with her expected schedule of speaking engagements and with a nationally televised VP debate on Oct. 02.

She does not wear bifocals according to her optician, so no lab is necessary;)

Owner Joy Leedham went to Palin's home in late December and fitted her in her kitchen -- where Palin considered nearly 300 frames. They narrowed it to five, and Palin's family helped pick the winner, from Kawasaki's 704 series, and the color is 34 gray, Hahn says.

From the article... Uggg, she sounds like a nightmare patient! 300 frames? Uggggg.

    Bet it's in the works...

    Regarding lack of AR---

You can bet some photographers are already suggesting it.

We should start a pool to see how long it takes for her to get the AR.

My bet is on Sept 22.

Maybe not every professional optical pushes the sale for an additional $ 115.00 a shot when the customer purchases 5 pairs in one shot. That would have made an additional $ 575.00 on top of the regular pairs.

If she ever makes it to Washington some hungry professional optical in the Capital will probably not have this professional oversight next time, and then she will vote against federal regulation of the optical retail trade if it should ever come up.

Not every politician is rich, at least when they are in their starting years, and if they keep to their original concept they might never get rich.

Furthermore there is one more thing............maybe she did not even want any AR coating...........that is also a possibility, which only she herself, and her optician knows. :finger:

Does anyone know what insurance she has? In Pa the House of Reps and senators have VBA, and their plan covers premium ar and ALL progressives. Is it that way for all states?

Unless Ms. Palin waived her privacy, it's technically a HIPAA violation for her optician to reveal information about her prescription.

She and her hubby are doing quite well. She should've gotten the A/R, even if it's just for the "face time" pair of glasses.

    Big Smile Ar

I can't imagine a time where I would NOT suggest AR to a person with 5 pairs of glasses. I think that a person that has 5 pairs knows/wants enough and cares enough about how they look in them to want AR. If she can afford $XXXX amount for all of those glasses then she can afford the extra $500 or so for AR. Also, I would have given a nice multi-pair purchase discount that probably would have been about equal to the cost of the AR only. She's a public figure to boot! She should most definitely have AR.

I talked to a Kawasaki Sales Rep and was told she does have A/r, butwith all the cameras everywhere, u still see reflections......it.s true....it's hard but if u play wit the angle on an A/R.....you can get some solid white light streaks.......if A/R wasn't used, u'd b able to see the teleprompter relflection as well.....right
