    Looks Great

Looks great for a beta. We've been using it since release yesterday and no hiccups. It definitely seems faster, and the separate processes for each tab will probably come in handy, though haven't had anything crash yet to see it in action. The Comic was pretty cool too.

It'll be interesting to see how Google's relationship with Mozilla plays out since most of Chrome's early users will likely be coming over from Firefox.

I've downloaded it on my home and work computers, and so far, so good. I stopped using IE years ago, switched to Firefox for a couple of years, and have been using Opera 9 since. Chrome is pared-down, simple browser, is eye-friendly (not that horrid off-white background and toolbar from IE), and loads pages quickly. Haven't run into any bugs so far. I think it's worth downloading.

My IE crashed while downloading Chrome. I still don't have it installed.

Chrome is fast and fiarly easy to use. Adding and changing bookmarks feels a bit awkward, but overall, it's very user-friendly. Sometimes, when I save a file to my desktop from the web, it automatically removes the period before the extension.

For example, if I save a file named "glasses.jpg" to my desktop, it sometimes saves it as "glassesjpg".

I tried it, didn't like the lack of boomarking organizational features. Besides that, it seemed fine.

    re: chrome

I've been using it for about half a year. It seems to work well and doesn't crash the way IE seems to. There are times when I have to resort to Firefox or IE because something doesn't load well, but those times are few.

I find the main problems with chrome is its compatability with some java and flash websites, i.e., some java buttons disappear all together (like a webmail 'send' button - so i couldn't send email!), or it will simply shutdown/crash/hang for particular pages, so I had to load page with IE or Firefox.

layout for some websites appear different with Chrome (as compared to the pages being coded for IE or Firefox), i believe this will get better in time though!

i gave it a try for a few months, but due to its instability (still beta!) i reverted back to firefox - useful plugins and stable (for me, at least!).

    regards,

I've been using chrome for awhile now, and it seems to work really well. I like the crispness of the interface. I think it does look better to have the tabs on the top (a feature that apple copied in their new beta version of safari).

However, I've got an older computer (running xp) and I've noticed that sometimes when I have a window open in the background (especially if it has some sort of multimedia on it, like flash or java) that it slows my system down. This was interesting to find since I got the impression that the program was not a memory hog......on the whole though, I give it the thumbs up.

Using it in Windows XP Pro, Vista Ultimate & Windows Server 2008 Standard (as a workstation) for about a year now - w/ version 1.0.154.53, works excellent!

    Pros:

    • Fast!
    • Handles Java & scripting much more efficiently than other browsers
    • No silly add-ons or "extensions' for each & every web media component or object
    • Simplified browsing data storage (and deletion!)
    • Uses little resources
    • Less tool junk on the menu bar
    • Borderless browser edges provide increased web viewing real estate

    Cons:
    • If you need to use an ActiveX component, must use IE (big deal, right?)
