...Just ask me...
Is it just me, or is that a little freaky?
It was sorta creepy.
No...it was creepy, not sorta, it was creepy!!
Just imagine Fezz standing out on the curb waiting for the Google cameras to come by. Pile of empty bottles littering the ground around him. Maybe even holding a sign that says, "OptiBoard 4 Life."
Not enough sleep last night. My imagination is starting to run wild.
It just occured to me....Did Google get her permission to use the picture?
Is that Fezz or Fuzz?

Heck, Google Maps doesn't even have any satellite photos of where I live. Microsoft's Earth maps do have a shot of my house but it's from over 15 years ago.:hammer: A lot of the woods behind my house is now storage buildings, formerly a Cardinal Trucking operation, then a big local auto body shop.

How often are the google pics updated?
The pic of my property is probably at least a few months old. Several months ago I looked and the pic was several years old. I'm basing this on work that I've done around the property.
I noticed the Google map of my area reverted to one from several years ago. The state took a meandering s curve and made a smooth arc out of the road next to our development. How often are the google pics updated?

One neighborhood theory is the most recent shot is on the pay service. The freebie is the older version with construction going on.

Interesting that google can identify you daughter and in our town, it can't even identify our street. Both our home and the office locations are wrong. And when I looked for a Texaco station in town it located one in the middle of a cornfield.
That's not just creepy, its downright frightening! I just went for a meander down Blakeley street, looked at the pavement, looked at the sky, it was bizarre! then, I went back toward where the girl and car were. Wow! Thats quite the thing they have on there now~
I put my address and zip in and it says I live in Minnesota!
No, it's not my address, although the red van and the silver Saturn are/were ours. My friends live on the block - my soapbox is near though - can you sense it?
It looks like her face has been intentionally blurred, so I don't think there's any privacy issue. She's cuter than the picture shows.
...Just ask me...
I think I saw the soapbox on the front porch . . .
Yeah, this is freaky. It knows where we live, for sure. I plugged in our address also, and I got to see our street, our cars parked out front. But there are no photos of my brother's house in Maine. Looks like the "street view" feature is spotty.
I wonder where the photos come from . . .

Andrew,
I wondered the same thing-where do they get the pictures? I am inclined to say the US Geological Dept. I have an arieal map of my Mountain Estate from them. They have the entire USA (maybe the world) arieal photographed and you can order shots of wherever you want.
