    [WTA]Varilux Ellipse stylis 1.67's thickness"

    hello all optician friend....

    I have a patient with :

    Rx: R.-600=C-200 X90'
    L.-600=C-200 X90'
    ---------------------
    Add +300

    frame Spec :
    A:55 mm
    B:35 mm
    Bridge : 16 mm

    Pupil distance : 64/62 mm

if i use progressif lens 'Essilor Varilux Ellipse stylis 1.67'
can somebody help me to calculate thickness(on the edge) of this lens??
is it look bad to wear ?

this patient really loves this frame? what should i do? should i replace the frame?...or is it any better lens to get more thin?? or any suggestion ??

    thanks a lot

.... sorry if my english not well

    I THINK ... NOT MATCH

    1. Ellipe with B=35 =>
1.1 Change frame to B= 26-30 should not be more than 30 mm.
1.2 Change Lens to standard corridor NOT short corridor because B=35
that will have intermediate zone. etc. Varilux comfort,Panamic,Physio
If more budget use 360 is better for this Rx.

    2. Frame size => A=55 with high minus
This Frame may not be suitable.

    If possible ... please change frame to A = 48 to 52
If frame is DBL 18 will good ... 20 will very good.

Change frame small size is high impact for make to look thin.

Change B to 32 mm. with fitting high 22 mm. If will change lens to standard corridor.
Change DBL to 18-20 mm. with A = 48-50 mm. and B = 27-30 mm. WILL GOOD. If still used short corridor.

    3. PD distance is 64 mm. BUT near PD is 62 mm. ????
may have be problem because standard lens is differece at 2.5 mm/side
BUT your prescribtion is differnce 1 mm./side
If sure about this convergence data ... should be used freeform Pals
that have custom inset PD ... side by side.

THIS CASE ... from your information
I assume ... your client is more than 60 years old because high addition.
(I never used add more than 2.50 D at 40 cm. working distance)
THis age know intermediate and need it ... for daily use.

    Good Luck.
