    Pennsylvania Opticians Licensure

There is a petition online to promote PA licensure, please help out by signing it, and asking others you know to sign it. Also if you feel like your state would benefit from something similar please contact me for promotion of the petition and to join efforts.

Spread the news, if everyone that signs it tells 10 people and 50 percent of those folks sign it, then 50 percent of those that sign it tell 10 people than the snowflake has been turned into an avalanche. Also you may want to start one for your state.

While I signed this a few weeks ago, I don't know if everyone is aware that you don't have to be a member of the state to sign the petition. We got a long way to go to reach 5000 names. Tell your friends/family and anyone else you know.

    Good Work Harry,
    Al

    OD Need this too!

    Harry,
If you can get the private OD's involved they would beneift as well. The law in Ohio hardly impacts the private OD but the chains hate it. MOst OD's in Ohio do not bother to employee licensed Opticians. Have you tried to involve them? By the way , I signed.

ODs as a group do not support Optician's licensure and have been some of the strongest opponents. Some individuals may offer quiet support, but not many. I wish we could garner their support, but unfortunately from my experiences fighting this battle for 30 years, it probably is not going to happen.

I signed.... and I'm a private practice OD. I'm all for more education and training, whether ODs or any other career. All of our opticians here are ABO certified.

    Aw shucks :o

That's what happens when I go spend time in the mountains. Get away from all this for a week and the memory just goes. :hammer:

Of course, it's more fun to have the memory full of trees, lakes, rocks and time spent hiking around with the dogs. ;)

That's awesome. It's great to see some OD's support this. Ultimately it benefits everybody: Patients, OMDs/ODs and opticians. My fiance is an optometrist and she also supports licensure for opticians.

You are above the group, your profession is highly regarded by our legislators and when you have no opinion or step asside or worst yet oppose bills that would help opticiasn it cheapens our profession and it creates the divide. Thank you for not following the sheep, if your int eh york, pa area let me know and the first few rounds are on me.
