    I believe it is the Anchor Inn in Key West FL has a historical marker in front of it claiming to be the oldest continuos operating bar in North America.
    Supposedly goes back to the days when Key West was an open port, Pirates and all were allowed to enter the city with no problems.

    Maybe it is all chamber of commerce fluff.
