    What adjustment for increased vertex?

    I have a myope -4.75+0.25x144 Add +2.00 o.u.
    -5.50+0.50x028

she insists on wearing her progressives way down her nose, similar to a half-eye wearer. We have already had a non-adapt to a Definity. she wants to order polarized sunglasses. In one of the previous posts, someone said to flatten the base curve in this situation. Any other suggestions? I have to make these, she's the owner's friend. Thanks for any insight.

I fit them where they should be and measure them where they shoudl be and they leave with them where they should be and I also let them know that what they do with them after they leave the office is their business, but progressives were designed to work in a specific spot and that's how they'll be measured and made. The owner shoudl be greatfull you didn't step down your level of service becasue she's a friend of the owner. Matter of fact tell her you are giving her this piece of hard advice only becasue she's the owners friend.

I agree with Harry. You can't adjust for a difference in vertex distance for wearing them wrong. A progressive is only going to work if it is in the right place. Why does she need suns if she is going to wear them like half-eye readers? It will let in a lot of sunlight.

Strange as it may seem, many folks wears Suns jus' fo' da' look. Some wears them jus' oddas kin see dem bran name on da' side and knows how hi'clas dey is.

So why do they get Rx in them? Only God knows but perhaps it's so they can wear them right when no one can see them and actually see, or so they can move them into place when the actually have to see or write check or somethin.
