    Buying Sunglasses Wholesale ???

    Hello All,
I am a new poster to this forum, although I have been reading the forums for some time.

I have been selling high end sunglasses (Dior, Gucci, Versace, etc..) online for sometime now - just for spare money and for something to do in my spare time. I want to take it further now and am looking for better distributors.

Does anyone know the requirements for purchasing wholesale from Safilo? Anyone know a US Contact or sales rep i could speak with?

They probably have restrictions in place that may eliminate me from an opportunity for purchasing directly from Safilo.....so would anyone know of any other wholesalers who are reputable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Cameron

Doesn't Safilo sell Gucci and Dior? Where are you getting them now?

Chip...I get them from 2 distributors down south. They carry past seasons and older models, but they have some great pricing....and again, this is just something i have been doing part time for spare money/fun. Im in the process of getting a website designed (thats the business im in) and just doing it on a bigger basis to see where it goes. Between my GF's friends, my friends, family and other contacts I do ok. But seriously, its just for spare money and I like it!

I'm always looking for other distribrutors, but it's not easy sifting through the myriad of fake and replica dealers. I was just curious if going directly through safila would be cheaper and give me access to in season makes/models. I was also curious on thier purchasing requirments.

Thanks for responding though - I appreciate it!

    Have you tried......

Have you tried just picking up the phone and calling them to ask?

Gosh, you could always just become legit? You know, actually have a storefront and service clients and meet the requirements of the manufactures. Oh, and by the way Safilo doesn't allow any on-line sales.

Photon - I could if thats what they require - but thats why I asked.....to see what they require. Now that I know they don't allow online sales I will look at other avenues.

Thanks for your help - great info! ;)

Many companies have a no-online policy. That's in effect so they can do it themselves.

That's ironic because I was thinking of designing websites for people (have done a few for friends, and family they love the low prices I charge ! (As you and I know, there's really not much to it anymore).;)

Hmm, it might not be a bad idea to get into optical.

    Best of Luck!

    Hello Everyone,

I am hoping to be a merchant of sunglasses and will contact Luxottica (read bad about Safilo on here, but not much on Marchon) in a few days. What is the best number to call for information on establishing what requirements are needed, getting info faxed, etc? I am currently buying merchandise from another vendor and all have all the certificates for my brick and mortar store as most vendors don't allow online sales.

Or could someone please rattle off a simple list of requirements? It'll be in Texas if it helps. Thanks for any help. I'll continue to look around the forum for more advice and help.
