    Hoya

What do you all think about Hoya, their product and quality? We are thinking about maybe possibly using Hoya for our main lab, but I don't have any experience with Hoya. I know there are a lot of opinions on this board and now is the time to openly voice them :D and let me hear what you have to say, good or bad, but not rudly :finger:. I'm used to mainly Zeiss and Varilux, but I am open to try something new, especially if the lab can produce quality. So give it to me :p

Most excellent product. Most expensive. Hope your clients are most well heeled.

    We do some. . . . .

with Hoya. Primarily Tact 40's with Super HiVision. The works good (we only get uncuts) customer service is friendly and knowledgable. I don't know if your rep is Dave, but he's a nice guy. I met another woman rep from Texas, but I don't remember her name.

    Good luck to you!

    I'll be the stand out....yukyukyukyuk

We started using them w/our Wiley's, then decided to try them for other work...Bad customer service and product took forever. We started w/San Diego, and then the manager of the district switch us to another lab closer to us in Minnesota, nothing improved.

I wear one of their progressives and it's ok....

We use HOYA in San Diego. Good service and quality. Keep an eye on invoices though, sometimes they "forget" to give discounts when they are supposed to. Only down side is all HOYA 1.6, 1.67, and 1.7 get processed in CT so it adds a couple days to turn around.

We are considering switching to Legends 4.0 in Dallas. They are a VSP lab with access to Essilor, HOYA, and Zeiss as well as the other manufacturers. And their prices on HOYA products are lower than what we get through HOYA.

    my 2 cents

The Hoya lab in Lewisville, Tx (Dallas area) went through a rough time a little while back, but they have completely turned it around. The work they are sending out is outstanding and customer service is wonderful. I'm very picky and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Bob, Legends is a good lab, call Sam over there and he will fix you up.

Hoya in Lewisville, right? They are pretty good. I used to work for Hoya SD before they were Hoya and I think they do a pretty good job but local makes more sense. If your gonna send it to California you might as well send it to me! We carry Hoya.:D

We used the Hoya lab right outside St Louis. The products are good, the capabilities (thin centers, high cyls on PALs, etc) are very good and the customer service was great. The prices were too high. They had some trouble with drills. But I sent them my hardest jobs first as a test.:bbg:
The main reason I dropped them was availability. The really didn't carry everything. No Varilux (not a BIG problem for me), limited Essilor, high prices on Shamir and Zeiss. The only thing they were really good at was their own lens designs.
However, on a related note. I compared the Hoya Phoenix side-by-side with the Younger Trilogy and the Phoenix is clearer and polishes better. FWIW

    Hoya

I have no non-adapts with Hoya Lenses, The Pheonix has a two year scratch warranty, the Just reciently changed there Policy on Dr. changes though It used to be up to a year, now it's 50% off Dr. Remakes with no time limit. Other than that they are great. they are very friendly and will go out of there way for you with any issues, Vicki Hooten is another fine rep. wonderful people,:)

I use Hoya San Diego, Good product, turn around is decent and good customer service. The downside is as other people said, price is really high, and watch your invoices. I have used some of the other Hoya's out there and they aren't worth the breath it takes to say their names.
