TRANSITIONS AND VSP PARTNER TO PROMOTE HEALTHY SIGHT THROUGH
TRANSITIONS VI SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

VSP Members Will Be Guaranteed Satisfaction for Up to Six Months
NEW YORK, April 11, 2008 – As part of their shared commitment to promoting healthy sight, VSP® Vision Care and Transitions Optical, Inc. are teaming up to provide guaranteed satisfaction on Transitions® VI lenses to VSP members. Through the program, VSP doctors can offer their patients who are VSP members up to six months to experience their new lenses. If the consumers are unsatisfied, VSP will replace their Transitions® lenses with ordinary, clear lenses free of charge.

“We view this guarantee as an exciting way for independent eyecare professionals to differentiate on superior quality and high satisfaction rates,” said Kate Renwick-Espinosa, VP of Marketing, VSP Vision Care. “This offering will help them reinforce why they should be a consumer’s provider of choice for high-performing optical products like Transitions VI lenses, which enhance and protect vision through UV and glare protection. The guarantee provides further security that consumers are purchasing their eyewear from a trusted source.”

The guarantee will be promoted nationally through the Transitions television commercial, customized for VSP. The message will encourage consumers to schedule an appointment with a VSP doctor, and will direct them to a special Web site providing more information about Transitions lenses and the satisfaction guarantee. VSP will also engage additional resources to educate its members about the importance of maintaining healthy sight and will provide access to interactive online resources from Transitions to familiarize consumers with the best options in eyewear to fit their lifestyles. The companies plan additional joint marketing efforts, which will target HR and consumer audiences to promote the guarantee, the value of enrolling in a vision plan and the importance of UV and glare protection to achieve healthy sight.

“It can be difficult for today’s independent eyecare professionals to compete due to limited marketing dollars,” said Pat Huot, business manager, managed vision care, Transitions. “This collaboration with VSP will help by providing high visibility for the guarantee, encouraging dialogue between VSP members and providers, and elevating awareness of the role of quality vision care and vision wear in achieving healthy sight.”
