    Anyone have experience with Augen?

The largest Mexican lens manufacturer is Augen. Has anyone used their lenses? Any feedback on their free-forms?

We have used their progressives in trivex before very nice and well priced. They also have a sunsenor and a SV Atoric Trivex, I am curious about trying more of their products, but never tried the FF. Didn't know they had one untill now.

I used their trivex lenses while with ECCA. Fairly good quality, I think they were the first exposure I had to double aspheric lenses, which seemed to work out fairly well for patients that were hyperopes with a good bit of astigmatism (as long as they were blocked right for surfacing!;)).

Never used their FF stuff. I would be interested in hearing about their technology as well.

On the website they claim they have a "high definition" process "with tremendous accuracy of curve power, to within +/- 0.01 Diopter (compared to accuracy within +/-0.12D using the traditional surfacing method)" resulting in "sharper, clearer vision through the lens – or “high definition” vision".

Interestingly, besides regular "hard resin" and Trivex they have only one other material with index 1.559 and nue 40 that they already consider "High Index", it´s supplier code apparently is TS-44. This is even less than Poly and the nue could be better for such a low index, why not use something that really has higher index like MR6 oder MR8?

Another thing very curiouos for me: "Augen" is the exact german translation for eyes, does this company have german origin, or was founded by some german (someby with german background) in Mexico? Anybody knows?

I had problems finding a lab that would supply the product. I ran into the dreaded-"Not enough offices order it, so we can't get it!".
