    Nikon Digital

Has anyone determined if there is someway to actual prove that the lens you ordered from Nikon is a digitally surfaced lens? The progressive markings are the same so you can't tell by looking at them. There's no "digital documentation" or anything like that. Just curious.

    Thanks

I think it is the same for Ovation and Ovation ADS. I love how they tout these differences, yet do not change the markings.

Maybe if you look really closely you can tell that the lens is comprised of miniscule zeros and ones. :bbg:

AH! That explains it! I was looking at them with a pair of old skool analog lenses.

The new digital i and W have different letters and are engraved differently than the previous non digital product.
The digital i lenses are marked with circles instead of ovals with a horizontal line through it, as well the nasal letters under the circle are nka, instead of nk

Also,a digital product with the longer corridor configuration, uses a Nikon Go blank and will have a nkb lettering under the nasal circle engraving. The nikon W uses either a go blank or an i blank and will be etched with a W on the upper part of the lens just above the temporal circle.

Most certainly there are identifiable differences between the digital and non digital products.
