    Rate President Bush's Performance

I got to thinking about something with all of the recent Political threads here….we have had many threads discussing the current election cycle and pretty much all of the responses have been dancing around one central theme which is not being directly addressed. Since our polls are complete anonymous (unless you want to state your views), I thought it might be valuable to get an sense of the opinion on President Bush’s administration.

Post in your commentary whatever you would like in relation to this topic, but please in your voting, be as brutally honest with your own views as possible.

I ranked it as terrible. This has been an awful time for the world. I am convinced that when it comes down to it, he will be ranked as one of the worst 5, if not worst 3 Presidents of all time.

And to think that he served two terms. I think this is why so many people are so excited about this election.

I don’t want this to get biased in anyway, but I know there are a fair number of conservatives here, and I’m really curious to see what their perspective on his Presidency is, especially if no one knows who is saying what.

My perception, talking to a lot of you here, and in RW too, is that most conservatives are honestly upset with his Presidency as well.

Yeah, even though most touted his horn last election, many have come around. Heck, the whole Republican Party looks disgusted with him.

They can't be that disgusted with him if they're going to choose his little buddy to go up against Obama or Clinton.

Well that is another story we may be talking about 8 years from now. Question is if the world can sustain another 8 years of the same.

I don’t know if you could call McCain or Romney Bush’s Little Buddy, but I have to say I was pretty disgusted with McCain after the 2000 election. Even though I rarely agree with his politics- because despite what some may say he is most definitely a conservative- I always respected him for clearly speaking his mind and voting his conscience even if it was out of lockstep with the party, but ever since he got beat by the lying of Bush in South Carolina he’s been kowtowing to whatever Bush wants (except torture notably), as though he felt it was his only way to get the Presidency after Bush was out.

Yep, it is definitely a sad and disappointing situation

I don't know about the world, but the U.S. sure can't. McCain and other fiscal conservatives - I use that term loosely - keep b****ing about the "Bridge to Nowhere" but not one of them mention that we spend the equivalent of a "Bridge to Nowhere" everyday in Iraq. Psssssh!

Politics sure makes strange bedfellows. Anyone paying attention to the reports back from West Virginia?

    Is that a hillbilly joke? ;) :p

I heard it’s a landslide, but nothing more.

Our new apartment is one block from our polling place. My wife SMS’d me to tell me that there are Hillary canvassers walking the streets trying to drum up the vote.

You've got Deliverance on your mind! I was referring to the West Virginia caucus in which McCain and Paul delegates threw their support behind Huckabee to prevent Romney from winning.

I am actually cheering for Romney. If he wins the Repub spot, it will be much easier for Obama or Clinton to win.

I concur that Romney will be MUCH easier to beat for either Obama or Clinton, but at the same time, if the Repubs were to find some way to pull off a win in the general election, McCain would be MUCH better for this nation than Romney, I think.

The latest polls seems to suggest that you guys are right (i.e. that Romney doesn't stand much chance against Obama or Clinton)....

I am surprised Clinton is as close to McCain as she is.

Just a few thoughts on the terrible performance of the Cheney administration.

    Huge increase in spending
    Huge increase in Debt
    Trampling on the constitution
    Vindictive (Plame, Richard Clark)
    Arrogant
Unnecessarily causing American deaths in Iraq
Not accomplishing the mission in Afghanistan
    Hasn't caught Bin Laden
    Making the rich richer
Trying to force his values on others
    ...Just ask me...

I don't know about that one

I mean Carter is not one for the record books, but Bush is not one for the league

I know we can't gather the information without revealing who voted for which, but I would love to know the party breakdown on those votes too.
