Optek Unity MAX and Contour MAX

Heya All

i am looking at upgrading my lab to a newer lab. I am keen to know if anyone here is using the Optek UNITY MAX and CONTOUR MAX lab equipment.

I would like to know what the through put is per hour and reliability of the equipment.

Any info and opinion will be appreciated

I love the Contour Max. I'm not sold, as yet, on the Unity Max.

How many lenses can you produce per hour/day?

I ran both the old SL and the Contour Max at a lab I worked at briefly a couple of months ago. Reliability seems up to par with the rest of the 3-axis generators on the market. I don't know about production speeds as this was a low vision lab and speed was unimportant.

The Unity Max is still too new, wait until a few more are in service then check it out again.

think it throught though...ive never used any optek equipment but i do know that if you have a problem they wont send a tech to you, as far as im aware (someone please correct me if im wrong) you have to ship your machine to them for repair...huge inconvenience! most other manufacturers have techs that will come (for a fee) to diagnose and fix the issues for you. cover all of your bases before you make a decision.
