    Traffic school....

I was stopped this morning. I swore I was going 55 mph....
but of course, I was "clocked" at 65.... whatever...
Officer told me there is traffic school on-line now.

Has anyone taken traffic school on-line?
I've been told by friends, that if you attend the normal class, there's no quiz or anything...
Just wondering how the on-line course is monitored...

Oh, and forgive my ignorance.... after 16 years of driving..... this is my first ticket of any sort...

I have 2 children that drive, they've both taken on line classes for speeding tickets. It is quite simple, there is a list of approved on line classes to choose from. It is sure a lot easier than having to physically go to an all day class.

Can you find out if there's a quiz afterwards (that you have to pass)?

From what I hear, if you just attend the all day class, then you fullfill your obligation.... even if you sleep thru it. LOL

I'm pretty certain that there are quizzes. You'll be able to handle it DR. I think it was pretty much open book.

Look at it this way, at least you don't have to drive there.

Stop being in such a hurry to find out about the on-line thing. I wouldn't rush into any decisions just yet. You may want to quickly call a lawyer, just to cover yourself.

I'm not in favor of these on line courses. The perpetrator should have to spend a whole day or two with the incumbent loss of wages sitting in a hot, stuffy classroom in order to truly make proper retribution for their crimes against society.

    Honest Doc, I:

1.)Always wash my hands before handling my contacts!
2.)I take them out every night!
3.)I only use the cleaning solution that you told me to use........you know that one that you said.
4.)I replace these lenses exactly the way you told me. Every 6 months...right?

    LOL!!!

DR, I don't think the class is mandatory. You are still going to have to pay that fine. It'll wipe out the points against your driving record and won't affect your insurance. Don't get another within 18 months or you won't be eligible to attend driving school. Take the on line class at your leisure.

I did it cheapeasytrafficschool.com or something like that. It was a piece of cake. There were quizzes throughout. They also stuck funny stuff in you would have missed and then quizzed you on that too.....like in the middle of a sentence about driving right of way it would say "Zippy's favorite food is tacos" It was easy and cost me 29 bucks.

    Too Late Now, But . . .

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding...
Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?

    Officer: Ma'am, you were speeding.

    Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Older Woman: I'd give it to you but I don't have one.

    Officer: Don't have one?

Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.

Officer: I see...Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

Older Woman: I can't do that.

    Officer: Why not?

Older Woman: I stole this car.

    Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.
    Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see

The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma'am, could you step out of your vehicle please! The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Older woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.

    Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car, please.

The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma'am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers. The officer is quite stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.

The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer.

The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma'am, one of my officers told me you didn't have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.

For driving 10mph over the limit? Crime against society? In California? The 'perpetrator' should be given a medal of honor for his esteemed self-control from what I've seen in my 3 years here. Most drivers hit 55 before the end of their driveway. ;)

I swear, I slowed down to 55 by the time I passed the cop.
The car in front of me was speeding. I think the cop clocked the car in front of me... but busted me instead.

But how can I prove that????

Anyways, I'll just pay the fine and take the class... :(

you can go and dispute it but that may make it worse since you have no proof. Unless he doesn't show and then they might dismiss it.

I hadn't had a ticket in 15 years so I figured it was my turn!

Good community policing and your tax $$ at its best! Very chincy, maybe if you were doing 11mph over, it would have been more justified...LOL
