Rough down very slowly and bevel like poly.
Follow the above two professionals advice. They know what the deal is. For your reading pleasure, I am including two great Trivex/Phoenix info sites. One is from Younger Optical' website, the other is from PPG.

PPG has a great info download on Trivex. It is a great read.

Younger has always suggested that Trilogy be rough cut dry on a wet edger and finished like poly and on 'hi-index' setting on a dry cut edger. Hoya's Trivex is a slightly different formula - they suggest a hi-index setting on both wet and dry edgers. Other manufacturers generally follow Youngers suggestion - Augen, Shamir and Essilor (Definity) all suggest rough cutting dry on a wet edger and finished on a poly setting and using a hi-index setting on a dry cut edger.
**As I recall, with newer Santinelli equipment (LE9000 series and LE/ME 1000) they suggest using their acrylic setting. And the new Optronics 7 has a trivex setting.
tks, to all of you for ur response!
best regards!
