    3 pc hardware

Were looking to buy quality 3pc hardware (bridge & temples) for our own custom shaped lenses. I anticipate there are suppliers but can't seem to locate any without purchasing a brand name assembled demo frame from one of the big frame companies.

    Helpful asssistance appreciated!

I custom build genuine horn eyewear in Los Angeles. Some of my collections use 3 pcs. drill mounted hardware fits all lens shapes and temple shapes. I got my hardware from Japan and I had to invest 1200 pairs per design. Then I make many different temple designs here in Los Angeles.

I can refer you to the foreign supplier if you are interested.

The hardware comes in shinny gold, silver and gun metal.

    Jerry Huang:

If you are selling your frames wholesale, can folks contact you for a catalogue?

    Hi Jo,

I can provide a brochure and color samples to optical professionals who are interested at having their own exclusive eyewear collection.

Starts from custom eye shape, temple shape, sizes and trade mark/logo printing in genuine horn material.

Enclosed e-photo in JPG file will demostrate my service.

    I like your demonstration. ;)

In another thread we were discussing what promotional items each of us uses to build business (cleaning cloths, cases and etc with a store name on them); having a line of custom frames engraved with a shop name or logo would also do the trick.

We have had folks mention custom frames and private lines in the past but you have been the first to give us a look at them. Thank you for all of the information in your post!

    Yes, I do.

I can custom build a full plastic rim clip-on sunglasses to match any shape of drill mount rimless job.

I will post the photo next week.

    clips for 3 piece hardware

The reason that there is no clip is that our model is similiar to the Silhouette 3-piece and they have had nothing but problems with theirs and the clips that attach to the lens have never been very good. We are studying the situation and hope to have something soon.

    Thumbs up

    Keith & Jerry Huang:

Thank both of you for all of the information you have made available about your products. The pictures are a great help in visualizing what you have available.

    Jerry Huang,

I just followed your www link, http://www.eyetailor.com/cliphouse2_001.htm, here on OptiBoard for the first time. I didn't know you were also involved with The Clip House. We always use you folks for our custom clips - you do great work!

    Keith,

Let us know when you come out with a clip on for your frames ... it will be interesting to see your design solution! Do you have a website available?

    - Jo

    Thanks Jo.

Clip House is another company I am working for. My boss allows me to play around with equipment for R & D purposes.

Enclosed photo is the genuine horn temple frame with Drill mount front + Hidden RX lens (50 %) plastic clip-on.

Plastic clip-on would give another new look of rimless frame.
The frame front can be oval shape, rectangle , cat eye............plus it will hide the Rx lens.

    Jerry,

I like where you decided to put the actual clips! Standard clip-ons are terrible on three-piece mounts with poly lenses because they often leave knicks in the lens edges and leave them feeling rough.

    Jerry,

Does the clip add a lot of weight to the frames? How is the wear and tear on the frames?

    Hi Mitchellvision,

It is a "hellow" plastic clip instead of solid plastic frame front. Metal hinges, bridge, Rx lens are "hidden" on the back of the plastic clip. Therefore, the weight is not heavy.

Please see the attachment, the photo is taken from the back of the clip.

The springing prongs are built near end-piece and grab on the hinges of rimless frame. The shrinking tube is inserted on the prong for scratch protection.

My clip boss complaints the weight "looks" heavy and wants me to use the same idea to make a rimless version (similar to the 2.5 grams, distributed by Italee). I will do my best and post it again next week. On the other hand, my frame boss thinks he can sell another 1/2 of plastic frame along with the rimless piece as a package.

If you have a better idea, please kindly suggest and I will try to make one. Maybe we will solve the clip-on problem for drill-mount rimless frames.

    Thanks
