    Future of Online Eyeglasses

Take a look at the doamin name www.800eyeglasses.com it leads to www.1800contacts.com and was created on feb 19 2004. I wonder when they are going to start offering their services?

That date is most probably when they registered the 800eyglasses and made a redirect. Porbably a move, so that nobody else could use that domaine name that is too close to 800contacts, which is a very successful site..

Similar to what happened to my website optochemicals and somebody made a site under http://opticalchemicals.com which is no more active.

just finished a job which the frame was bought online

There are a few online optical stores are active, I think . I have just finished a drill mount job for a sttaff from one of my accounts( Dr's office!), her daughter bought it online, it was a CD;And I think there will be more people buying online, maybe not the way online stores wanted.

I am not keen on this, but hey what can you do. I even met a couple sharing contact lenses, the same lenses!

I agree, when they show up at your door, just say no. If you sell them lenses, then they expect the adjustment, and when they break and are not under warranty, guess where they will go for help?:finger:

Tell them your "Internet Eyewear Handling Fee" is $139.95, must be paid in full before ordering, is non-returnable, and must be paid in cash!

    Think positive!

Seems logical but 'cash only' sounds like a flea market and very shady. If this is the road you travel, you will need a 'internet frames - lens only price list' which absorbs that handling fee. Then, demonstrate the warranties and what it would have cost had they purchased the complete package from you. Next time, they will think twice.

There's no face or relationship with internet purchases so it really doesn't matter. However, there is a face and relationship when customers come to visit your store.
