Other than custom RGP anyone know of any company making a soft toric lens that would meet the needs of a -17 with over 2 D of cyl? I've been researching but now luck. Case in question says they tried the hard lens before and couldn't get used to it.

TZOD:
Will send soft lens recommendations too. But one can fit rigid lenses at least five millions ways. The fact that a patient "tried them before" especially on a myope of this degree probably only means it was done poorly last time.

If its -17.00 then i dont think the cyl will make that much difference to the vision , you could try the air optix individual by cibavision, they can correct all the myopia except the cyl, which will still probably give better VA than spectacles.
To find out what,s happening in the UK optical market:

Ikon44 is probably right. In the US it's the O2 Optix Custom silicone hydrogel, although it would only be a spherical lens. SpecialEyes makes customs torics, BC 6.9-9.5 in 0.1 steps, DIA15.0-16.00 sph +/-15.00, cyl-0.50-8.00 in 1 degree incrediments.
Also Alden OPtical makes the ALden HP TOric in 3 BC one DIA and Sph power in the Division II from +/-10.25to20.00, cyl-0.50-10.00
Alden Optical 1-800-253-9669
SpecialEyes 1-866-404-1060, www.specialeyesqc.com
I would second that the Alden HP ori could be an option, but I would also agree that you could get away with a sperical and cut all your headaches in half.
California Optics also has the CO Soft 55 Toric that would come in the parameters needed.

*Dave at OptiVision has a web based tracer integration package that's awesome.
You really don't want to fit someone that high with a traditional hydrogel: way too hypoxic...not remotely safe.
O2Optix custom-made would be a reasonable try.
But Chip is right: you have to try RGP first. It's a no-brainer.
