    Wave AR Coating education

Does anyone know where to learn basics of Multi layer coating deposition ?
and what do you recommend for learning how to design, apply and maintain your Multilayer coating on plastic lenses?
it would be better if there is a training course for a few days with a software to use
    Thanks
    Ego

    Question

thanks Judy for your reply ,but i do not want to learn from a coating vendor as by that you will be thinking of his products only ,i need to know the basic fundamentals and then choose my way independently as also i`m not going to have a machine form them sooner nor later ,
but i will see it anyway.

Suit yourself, the booklet is primarily generic information pertaining to coating processes.

If you want to learn how thin films work than pick up a few books on basic physics or optics as for the application methods you can find some good information at www.spie.org. And the information that Judy mentioned on the Satis site is very good. It's free and worth the review!

None of it is theoretical! If you go to the website I linked it's full of articles by equipment designers, coating designers etc. They cover various methods of applying thin films i.e. sputter. Maybe you should read the material before you assume whats in it.

    AR Coating Info

Start checking the net. CERAC has good info on Thin Film Coatings on all mediums for plate glass windows to ophthalmic lenses. It is generic and very informative.
