    Gerber Sgx Issues

    I have ran my generator with no problems for almost 6 years. Now I am down and need help please. I am getting an R-stop and R-home error. I took the ballscrew out and put it back in after a thourough cleaning of the threads but still no movement on the r axis. After the first error I could get a little movement but it was real "bumpy".     SGX help

    Chris, I have had this type of problem in the past. What worked best is using WD-40 (even though Gerber recommends silicone spray) and run the ball screw a few times through and then clean up as much residue. I have found that you get a lot of this error because of the R-opto being bad or needing adjusting. If it has been 6 years, I'd change it out. Hope this helps.

    All right it was my R-axis ballscrew. to answer your reply I did call Gerber and they had my account inactive cause I have not ordered in a while. They did call back and faxed over directions on how to change it. I cahnged it and the machine work without failing today. Thanks to all the folks that replied.
