    public attitute toward opticianry

    Hello Everyone,

I just got word of an attachment of a power point presentation done by Tom Woods, NFOS member and Professor at NYC Tech Opticianry Program.

He presented this at our summer meeting in Boston. I was not present, but I know the study he is referring to, and the results were very interesting.

The title of the study conducted is:

Public Attitute Toward Opticianry Education as Human Capital.

    To get to the link:

    go to www.nfos.org

    "downloads"

from there, scroll down to the title.

    Hope you enjoy it,

    Laurie

PS: I'll find out how to get the actual document. It was done by 4 colleges, (some opticianry, some statistician types...) including the Navy (Naval Ophthalmic Support and Training...)

Please let me know if you would be interested in seeing the study
    documentation.

    : )

Absolutely Laurie. I did manage to download the PPT, but the actual study would be great.

I've read the study also. It's very interesting and should help point the way in effectively marketing Opticianry as a profession and a career.

    Laurie,

That would be great. I tried to download the Power Point document at NFOS but I guess my version won't open it. :(

I can convert the presentation from Powerpoint to Adobe Reader and then email to whomever wants it. Almost everyone has Adobe Reader on their PC - or can do the free download.

If you want it let me know.

    Cindy,

I have MS Office; I am going to try saving the document to disk and then opening it instead of just trying to open it.
