Experienced optician moving to Hawaii!!! (2nd post)

(I thought I'd post this again, having no luck so far.)

My husband's company is relocating us to Kailua Kona, HI...and I'm very excited about the opportunity! I will be arriving the week of October 22nd, so I wanted to post this ASAP! I am dedicated and love what I do. I have about 10 years experience and have my ABO, however I understand that Hawaii is a license state so I'm interested in finding out how to persue the license and do it the right way. I'd be happy to submit my resume and references upon response to my post.

Nicole, there is a way to search the members list for anyone in a given geographic area. Try it and contact those directly.

Hawaii is a licensed state requiring a current ABO and NCLE certifications and then apply for a state license.

As to employment , you will find opportunities rather limited. Your best bet would be Kaiser Permanente, LensCrafters if in the area or WalMart.
You can take the certification exams any time and then apply for your license. The license will definiately increase your pay.
