Hi if you have a newsreader you can download on the usenet the
episode of How Its Made "Optical Lenses".

1 change the file from zip to nzb (I cant put nzb file direct into the forum)
2 Load the nzb file into you newsreader
3 download
4 enjoy

The really facinating thing is some of us on this board are old enough to have done this by hand. Made contact lenses on a manuel lathe too. Hand trued our own grinding and polishing tools. Made lenses accurately enough to do heat fusing on segments, etc. You'd be amazed what one can do with one's hands if you don't mind getting them dirty.
