Just wanted to introduce myself. I work for a company that builds thermo plastic injection molds. These molds make parts across a variety of products. Our company though is specifically known for the optical lens molds that we build. Most of our lens molds are for finished, semi finished, and inner occular lenses.

I am the head designer for these molds here at our company. In an effort to produce even better products for our customers, I want to get a better understanding of lens design, and the why they do what they do. As always, the internet is a great source for more information. I came across this site and have discovered a ton of info to read over. Here are a few questions for you:

1. What is the best source for a beginner to get some basic lens design information?

2. Manufacturing practices of molding lenses

A good place to start would be www.opticampus.com. Check the downloadable CE on PAL design. Don't mind Chip, sometimes he just can't help himself. :shiner:
